HORSE FEATHERS (SAD)
Nakon što je 2010. godine koncertom u KSET-u oduševo hrvatsku publiku svojom izuzetnom, duboko emotivnom i melankoličnom glazbom, portlandski art folk bend Horse Feathers ponovo dolazi u Zagreb, gdje će u Močvari predstaviti svoj novi album “Cynic's New Year”, koji je izvrsno prihvaćen od strane publike i glazbenih kritičara.
Horse Feathers, predvođeni Justinom Ringleom, su bend čija se glazba može opisati spojem indie folka, apalaškog bluegrassa i alternativnog countrya, a najčešće se uspoređuju s imenima kao što su Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes, Great Lake Swimmers, Hem, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird te Richard Bruckner.
Za vrijeme odrastanja u američkoj saveznoj državi Idaho, Jason Ringle svirao je u mnogim indie rock bendovima, a nakon preseljenja u Portland počinje nastupati pod nazivom Horse Feathers. Ubrzo nakon toga upoznaje multiinstrumentalistu i producenta Petera Brodericka, člana indie folk i country rock bendova kao što su Norfolk & Western, Loch Lomond, Efterklang i turnejskog instrumentalistu Laure Gibson. Njih dvojica provode veći dio 2005. godine pišući pjesme i usavršavajući nastupe uživo po mnogim klubovima u Portlandu, a Horse Feathers tada prerasta iz solo u duo projekt.
Pod utjecajem kultnog akustičnog folk albuma Brucea Springsteena “Nebraska”, kao i glazbe neoklasičnog kompozitora Maxa Richtera, u veljači 2006. godine duo ulazi u studio i snima svoj debut album “Words Are Dead” izdan za Lucky Madison Records u rujnu iste godine. Nakon izdanja izvrsnog debut albuma, etablirani portlandski label nezavisne i alternativne glazbe Kill Rock Stars, za koje svoja izdanja potpisuju i The Decemberists, The Gossip, Xiu Xiu, Devendra Banhart, Laura Veirs, Marnie Stern te Quasi, biva oduševljen njihovom glazbom te ubrzo potpisuju ugovor s Horse Feathers. Drugi album, “House With No Home” izdan u 2008. godini ubrzo postaje najbolje prodavani Kill Rock Stars debut album u cijeloj povijesti labela.
Treći album “Thistled Spring” izdan 2010. godine za label Kill Rock Stars, obilježen je odlaskom Petera Brodericka iz benda te dolaskom multiinstrumentaliste Sama Coopera, violiniste Nathana Crocketta te čelistice Catherine Odell.
Na posljednjem studijskom albumu “Cynic's New Year” izdanom u travnju 2012. godine, Justin Ringle implicira novi početak te širi svoju art folk viziju u područje ambiciozno aranžirane komorne americane prepune melodijskih zapleta i raspleta, dok njegovi poetski tekstovi i dalje, kao i oduvijek, počivaju na tankoj granici između nade i očaja opisujući portrete zimskih jutara, usamljenjih noći, slavljeničke plesove u čast uspješnih žetvi te krajolike i običaje sjeverozapada SAD-a.
Zbog želje da publici svoju glazbu dočaraju na najbolji mogući način, koncert u Močvari će biti sjedeći, a broj ulaznica ograničen je na broj od ukupno 250.
LADY FRIENDS AND FLOWERS (Zagreb)
Kao predgrupa zagrebački Lady Friends And Flowers izvesti će nove pjesme sa nadolazećeg EP-a, koji su se do sada osim u Zagrebu predstavili i na SXSW festivalu u Austinu, Texas. Tada su nastupili na showcaseu Frenchkiss Records, labelu sa sjedištem u New Yorku za koji svoja izdanja potpisuju Bloc Party, The Drums i Passion Pit. Od nedavnih koncerata zanimljivo bi bilo izdvojiti nastupe sa kanadskim dream pop duom Memoryhouse, američkim electronic pop duom Yip Deceiver, nastup u Grazu, Beogradu te planirane nastupe u Londonu u studenom 2012.
